Job Title: Cognos Developer  

Perform a wide range of analysis and technical tasks throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for mid-sized to complex Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics solutions; Responsible for implementing Cognos BI & TM1 solutions, designing Cognos Frameworks & providing Cognos expertise; responsible for gathering & analyzing business requirements, planning, preparing, implementing, organizing and executing developmental tasks & developing & delivering solutions to production. Develop & implement Enterprise Cognos Business Intelligence (BI) application architecture, security plans and processes. Install, configure & secure Cognos solutions (including BI & TM1), on multi-server architecture. Interact with analysts, data modelers, and/or business users to understand user requirements. Analyze source systems & business requirements needed for report development. Assess new report requirements for feasibility & expected efforts. Create documentation including functional report specification and technical design documents clearly & accurately so that the specifications can be translated into complex reports and analytic dashboards that meet the needs of the business. Design database tables for Reporting Layers based on business requirements. Develop models and multi-dimensional cubes for a variety of complex reports based on business requirements. Prepare mockups/proof of concepts to prototype the reports to the stakeholders. Administer, deploy and maintain models, report libraries, packages, and cubes for all environments. Design and support streamlined code that has object-relational databases and user interfaces interacting flawlessly. Ensure system stability by working with infrastructure teams (e.g. DBAs, Network Admins, Server Admins, etc.)Conduct & document QA testing (unit, integration, installation qualification testing, etc.) and track defects using HP Quality Center or other software test/defect tracking tools. Migrate reports and packages for system upgrades, as needed. Provide technical assistance and problem resolution to stakeholders. Proactively maintain an understanding of the stakeholders' business practices. Troubleshoot complex system & technical issues without assistance.

Requirements: Masters Degree in Computer applications or Computer Science and 12 mos.
Experience. Certified IBM Cognos 8 B1 author V2 & Certified IBM Cognos 10 B1 Administrator V2.

Advanced knowledge in the use of Cognos 10x, 8x, Report Studio, Query Studio, PowerPlay, Business Insight, Active Reports, Framework Manager;working with databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata; using PL/SQL; and using Web Servers (e.g. MS lIS 7.5/6 and Apache Tomcat); Advanced knowledge of best practices for Cognos system security and user access.

May be required to travel to unanticipated jobsites throughout the United States
